Big ToDo
Life hack thinks that ToDo lists don’t work. I am interested in this belief because I have several todo list that are unfulfilled and abandoned.
One of the reasons they say is that todo list have a list of large projects that can’t get done right away. So most people do the small unimportant tasks just to be able to check something off.
Of course, the way to get around this is to break the large project into several small, doable tasks that can move the whole thing forward. For example, if you list says “Attend Consumer Electronics Show,” that doesn’t even quality as a task (too big). It DOES involve a lot of small tasks to get ready. Book a flight, pack for five days, get mom to keep the cat, water the plants, etc. These manageable items are more likely to get done. And getting things done means that you’re more likely to get the rest done.
Life Hack says that its better to have a Done list. They recommend a philosophy that promotes the end product rather than focusing on what hasn’t yet happened. That’s good advice. Its a helpful read.
